Court Update and Reflection

First I'd like to apologize to anyone I snapped at over my last thread via the replies or through PM. I let my anxiety and emotions overcome me leading up to my situation and the feeling of the unknown in front me.

So I'm not in jail obviously as I type this. I was offered a deal by the DA. Basically the felony is dropped to a misdemeanor DV and I have to take DV classes for 6 months, pay a fine, community service and stay out of trouble. The other option was to take a continuance of about 4 weeks and a warrant for a material witness wouldve been summonsed against my wife. I took the offer for many reasons. 1) I don't want her to have to deal with this warrant s*it over her head. 2) I want this behind us 3) It's my fault so I took it and will deal with it on my own 4)It was the right thing to do.

My last case hopefully forever. I only breakout in handcuffs and judges when I drink. Never happens otherwise.

Thanks for everyones support.

Good for you. I applaud you for both taking responsibility and staying sober. (Idk what you did, but that doesn't matter.)

I forgot to mention after I complete the classes and all of the other requirements it gets dropped again to Simple Battery. Thats a long way from a felony and facing 3 to 5 years in prison and my wife doesnt have to worry about a warrant. I'm really happy about the fact that she doesn't!

I'm glad to hear all this Getit!!!

Thanks for coming back and letting us know how it went.

You are not alone. I assaulted my husband while drunk. I wanted to put this out there too. None of us here is free of sin and none of us is here to judge.

I really hope to see you around posting and working your plan.

I am proud of you for owning up to it and facing it head on.

We are your SR family and we want to help you succeed!
