I made it 1 month

Thanks to everyone here, even though I don't post a lot. I read daily and you've all helped me immensely in remaining sober. After a month long search, because of issues with insurance, I finally found a counselor who specializes in addiction, so I'm really hopeful in adding this to my recovery plan.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi JGK, it seemed impossible to me at first too, and I'm pretty surprised I've made it this far actually. Stick around here though and read as much as you can. It has really been the extra boost I feel like I've always needed. I used to not be able to get through 3 days.
Good luck!

Gretel, great job, congrats on your(first of many) months!

JGK, months are just accumulations of the Nows we live through. The Now is the only time we can act , the only time we have power 'over'. If any particular Now seems daunting know you have the power, the stuff , to get through it, you do. Some are easier to deal with than others, but All of them are doable, and they add up Stay strong Now , every one of them , like the one when (if,lol) you started reading this seemingly silly verbage and the one now, You got this and you'll get that , too ( the first of many months)

Well done!

Congratulations on your first month sober. I hope you get on well with your counsellor (and manage to be more honest than I was able to be with mine).

Hey everyone
I have not been on here much lately, stopping by to peruse the forum every so often. I just wanted to stop in and say I made 6 months today!

I have been in private therapy since starting my journey, but plan to get over to this site/forum more often. I want to make sure my recovery is as strong as I feel.

I remember my first post like it was yesterday. I remember how unfathomable even 6 months seemed to me then. Well here I am. I really owe most of my success so far to all of you lovely people on the forums. You really helped me stay strong in the early days when I needed it most. But I still need it, and hope to talk to you all more.

Thanks for everything.

love this!! Same boat, this time has to be different and although it feels hopeless now, I see the strength in the people who have remained sober for long period. you can do this!

thank you kel!
The struggle of addiction is always similar in its roots, whether I posted that today or 6 months ago, I'm glad you could find it relatable.

You will get to 6 months too, just stick with it We are here for you!
