I am sorry for your troubles Brynn and Jsbodhi.
I have no real advice to give as I have never had a DUI but I have a candle lighting for all of us tonight.

I am back at my own place. No matter what happens this week I will not spend the week crying like last week. I'm better than that.

My mom told me today that she is proud of me so that's nice. She always gives a strange compliment though. She said "there's nothing wrong with you. Anyone that goes to work 9 - 5 Monday to Friday is perfectly capable". She also asked me if I would be home next weekend. I said "maybe not. Perhaps the following weekend". She said "yeah you are right to make a bit of a life for yourself". This makes a change from all the years when she would be calling me 'a useless alcoholic'.

This week is my turn to put the bins out so I was chatting with my housemate. She said "when the others move in it will be great. We will only have to put out the bins every 8 weeks".

Bloody hell! How many people will be living here? Mostly students I bet since it is across the road from the university and down the street from the hospital. If I get that contract extension at the end of the month I better start looking for a better place to live. I note my landlord has nor fixed the shower in my en suite yet but I bet he will be around to collect the rent. I'll mention it to him when he comes by.

These Alabama boys are making me crazy.

Roanoke is passive aggressive- that's just how he does things- he can't just come out and say what's bothering him; he does it in this round about way that takes forever until we actually get to what his problem is.
He expects me to act like suzy goodie two shoes homemaker or some **** like that.
He KNOWS I'm bad- why try to change a good thing
Anyway- now he's said "you dragged my heart through the Alabama dirt"
I told him " you heard that line in a country song!!!!"

He's upset because I go out- I'm not even being bad- he just wants me sitting at home with zero possibility of meeting anyone else is what his problem is.
My 'crime' is nothing.

The his brother is upset because we got together ( I think he might have had a lil thing for me- though unspoken)
He said " seriously Jen? My brother- out of all the * fill in the blank* in Alabama you couldn't stay off of that one?"
I told him " I didn't mean to- it just kinda happened!!!!!"
He said " oh right- yes, you just tripped and fell on it"

Yikes :/ haha

Time to turn my phone off for the afternoon!

I feel the same way Marty, it's all so venal and corrupt.

We were told that that the London games would be the cleanest ever, turned out that they were the worst for doping this century. We were also told that there would be no lame duck stadia but the main stadium was sold to a soccer club owned by a pornographer for a pittance.

I enjoyed them while they were taking place but it is a take on imo

Sorry to hear that Ardy. Be safe. Good to see you here!!!

OK... so I tried to do a little mall walking to get some steps in against a workweek hustle with Olive. Mall walking in and of itself is a clear indicator of age but one I will deny straight faced. In this case it was raining out and I needed options. Nobody wants a moist Weasel.

It's only Monday my dearest Olive. It's only Monday.

Jen, Jen, JEn. That sounds like the time I got a call from school that my son bit another kid in the face. Whaaaat?! He was 5 or so at the time and I asked him what happened. He said that he was going to kiss the other kid, tripped, and his mouth was accidentally open. Hmm. I still don't completely understand that one. But he didn't bite anyone after that. So you just tripped and fell on it, eh? I'd agree on turning off the phone for the afternoon and perhaps the evening.

Ardy, sorry to hear that your surroundings this past weekend weren't very peaceful. It's scary, isn't it?

Tetra, they'll be stacking you all like wood in the wood pile before long. That doesn't sound very peaceful.

I was telling one of my best friends about the situation....
Behan: he was a singer for black flag- pure punk rock

Anyway- I was telling him and he was laughing way too hard.
I was trying to explain myself.
" I was gonna tell his brother- but he was on lockdown- I was in Alabama....."
My little punk rock friend said " omg- jen- please just keep talking, just keep talking- the more you say the better this gets!
Everything you say just makes this so much worse and better; I wish I was there for this Alabama xmas with a fistfight in the front yard"

Oh no.

OK i'm of to zzzzzzzland soon

You know that Jensen I posted a pic of is a great looking car, it has a real presence. Maybe I should take my own advice, I could see myself tooling round in one of those (converted to fuel injection though as I like cars to start when I turn turn the key)

Have a good day

Hey all --

I'm still thinking about fruit flies, which was about 8 zillion posts ago. Inevitably, I have a whole bunch every summer -- just as inevitably, my fault for leaving an old banana or something similar on the counter.

Count me in as "meh" on the Olympics. The degree to which countries must spend ridiculous amounts of money building infrastructure that will often fall to waste is unimaginable. And I suspect the Rio games will be prone to all sorts of additional woes, particularly given zika and poor water quality. Which is all sad. I can remember times when the Olympics were really a thrill to watch.

Not much of any great interest to report from here. "Absolutely Fabulous" was mildly entertaining.

(((Brynn))) I think that if the notary question remains a priority for your boss, an "honesty is the best policy" approach is best. It sounds like you are a rock star employee and that matters greatly.

Evening gang.

Long drive home today. Very tired.

I hope you find a resolution to your work situation Brynn. I agree with others that this situation might best be handled with honesty. You are a model employee by the sound of it. Imagine being free of keeping your past secret?

B

Just got dome mowing. Sure didn't want to, but happy it's done. I'll be babysitting the next two evenings, and it's hard to mow with the baby here. My son is capable of both babysitting and mowing, but it's less stressful all around this way. Burgers on the grill tonight, since I didn't make them yesterday. Looking forward to that.

I'm another one that's disenchanted or disenfranchised or whatever about the Olympics. When I was a kid (oh gosh can't believe I just said that blah!) we watched the Olympics religiously and felt such pride when the United States anthem was played and we' d always keep track of how many medals each rival nation had! Now it's just a disgrace with the doping and everything else going on! I might try watching a bit for old times sake but it's not a priority.

Thanks y'all for the advice and support. Behan got it right! I live in constant fear that someone there will find out about my past! It's awful! They only know me as a non drinking vegetarian who gives umbrellas to the homeless lol! I dont want my image ruined cause I don't care how open minded people are they still judge!

I feel I'll always have to live in the shadows and always be reminded of my dispicable past! I've been really depressed today by the in my face reminder. It feels overwhelming really and it totally sucks.

Oh Jen! Roanoke needs to get over himself! He expects you to sit home while he serves his sentence seriously?!?! You better make the boundaries clear right now or it'll only get worse and you'll have wasted years waiting for someone who isn't secure enough to even be in a relationship! xo
