Newcomer
Hi all. I am new here and don't really know what to do or say. I am a drug addict. I have been sober for two weeks now and am feeling pretty good about myself. It has been a long road. I was sober for a year before I slipped up and now I'm at two weeks. So it's hard to start back over. I went to my first meeting today. It wasn't the one for me but they gave me great info on how to find the right meetings and where. I was very greatful. My pastor came with me and he was my solid rock! My standby, just in case I chickened out and tried to leave. Or if my anxiety attacks came and I needed someone to talk me down and calm me. I did way better than I thought.
But I then found this site also and thought that this would be great also. You can never have too much help. Well not in my eyes.
I am going to another meeting tomorrow/tonight since it's almost 5:00 am. I work overnights so I am awake at odd hours.
The meeting tonight is an NA meeting which will be better suited for me. The one last night was an AA meeting. I felt out of place there. So I'm hoping to feel a little bit more comfortable tonight. I am slightly nervous though. I don't really like big groups. I definitely do t like talking in big groups. So.
Anyways. I will come back on here after my meeting and let y'all know how it went and how I'm doing. Thank you for allowing me to join. I don't quite know the rules for here so if I am breaking any or do in the future, please feel free to call me out on it. Ok. Thank you and I'm just gonna take one day at a time and deal with what I can and get help with what I can't. I hope you all have a blessed day.
