Good morning all.
Having a calm coffee in bed before the storm. Rough night with juniors sleep last night. We may need to re-think the logistics of these long distance visits to such noisy houses while junior is so young.
Hopefully get a little day trippin in today. There is a wonderful lake here.
All the best to your son in his future music career, a Ramone in the making!

Saturday morning ,
I hope everyone got through friday night sober .
If not don't carry on drinking , stop now , ditch the booze , clean yourself up . day one is the pits but active drinking is as well and more dangerous .
With drinking i could 100% guarantee tomorrow would be horrid , with sobriety it has a chance for all my tomorrows to be a bit better .
Time for a bacon sandwich and a coffee
good morning / evening to you , m

Good Morning to you, my Friends!
My very kind dad brought me breakfast on a tray this morning. One of the perks of being home is a litle TLC.
Actually my new main aim in life is to be as kind as my father is.
Because so very many people go about their day displaying a lack of love and respect for others, it can almost seem as though that's the thing to do. But remember what Granny used to say, "If they jumped off a cliff, would you go and do that too?" No, we're not lemmings, we are like awakened children making our own path amidst the many who follow blindly. We count ourselves lucky to be the ones who don't go along with the crowd simply to 'fit in'. Here's to a Happy Saturday to you... my trailblazin' Friends!

Good morning, all!
Woke up too early for a Saturday. There's bacon in my house. I'd better make and eat some. Coffee first.
I woke up with Weezer, Lit, and the Ramones running through my head. I am so proud of my son. He's already thinking about next summer's camp. I went to that same camp (for Jazz Band) 35 years ago. We are lucky to have it near us. It's really excellent. Nothing much has changed, except they have more programs now. The dorms are still crappy, the food is still crappy, but the instruction is top-notch.

Hi all
I'm just back in after a night out. Movies and a restaurant. One of those theatres where you can drink, ice buckets and fancy food.
Anyway, what kept me sober tonight with friends who where drinking was knowing that everything I said or felt came from a clear mind. I argued, I teased, laughed, was a bit over the top at times and I loved it all. All me, nothing false.
It's so liberating.
And tomorrow I won't regret a thing.
Night.

You cook the bacon, right?
Surprisingly, not a sore muscle on my body this morning.
I cut up a peach in my oats this morning - I'm really getting wild.
Nice fish Mesa, what was that one saying? I'm thinking I might do a little fishing later today. I drive up north for a visit this afternoon. I was using that as an excuse to fish till dark in the spring. Summer is brutal on trout around here. High water temps > low dissolved oxygen > trout are somewhat lethargic. Plus if you catch one under those conditions it probably will die. So it's catch and eat...

Good morning!
Black coffee in bed and catching up with you guys! Always a nice way to wake up. I would love to close my eyes and not have any alarms set and just crash out, though. I wonder how long I would sleep.
So last night Chicago had its first meeting of Refuge Recovery. It's a Buddhist path for freedom from addiction. It's not meant to take the place of your 12 step program but is an addition or just something to check out on its own. All fellowships are welcome at the meeting.
I was really excited, bc I was one of the organizers. I have the book downloaded, and I was googling and facebooking around to see if there were meetings near me... There weren't so I asked if there was any interest in starting one on several private sober Facebook groups I'm in, and it got a huge response..
And then a few days later, a really nice guy did a lead at an AA meeting I frequent, and he spoke a lot about what meditation has done for him, and going on meditation retreats etc.. I approached him after the meeting to talk to him about RR and he was all over it.
He's done a meditation retreat with the founder of Refuge Recovery as his teacher. He said he would know where to get the materials to facilitate a meeting.
It was super trippy serendippity!
So I put the word out again, and a local recovery counselor donated his office space. Another gentleman who used to run with the original guys in the movement in California helped us form everything together.
So we are now live in Chicago and I am so proud of us! We had a packed house and people are so eager for this! It'll be really cool to see how this unfolds, we are already thinking of multiple meetings a week.
I am proud of my little part in this. Even through my recent relapsing and tough times, I didn't give up on this. There is no such thing as a hopeless drunk.
Xoxo carpe the heck out of your diem
