Going away for a few days, will be first time away with people drinking and me not. Just now I feel ok about it and I have booked a lot of non drinking activities.

Problem is how I will react when they are drinking in hotel and am sitting with water.

tamby, i strongly encourage you to have an escape route. if youre with people drinking while youre enjoying water and a compulsion to drink hits, put your sobriety first and leave.

Sorry man but this should of been cancelled sooner your not new to sobriety & you know exactly what your friends would be up to so I'm guessing you have two options & I just want to point out I was an overseas transfer rep I lived in greece & know exactly the type of things that happen when lads are on holiday

Go on a lads holiday & not engage in activities with said friends - kinda defeats the point of why your going

Tambdy this is like putting off sobriety.. who knows if you will stay sober in seriously early sobriety on a lads holiday I hope you do if you choose to go but sounds like hell to me

I couldn't do that in early sobriety & even if I did it would drive me insane while I was already in a fragile state (very early sobriety)

Thanks mate, you have always been there for me, since I have my kids am thinking about letting them do there own thing and I will do mine, I also have the car so will be driving. I definitely wont drink
