Hello again. Let us regroup...
It's been a very long time but I am back. My original sobriety date was 3/12/2012 and my lapse date was 12/30/13. A year and 9 months I went without a single drop of alcohol... Then my mate of 8 years left me and when he left me I quickly turned to alcohol because I was no longer an alcoholic and I could now control myself obviously after all that time sober...
A lot has changed since then and I've learned many more lessons and I am now 16 days sober.
My new birthday is 7/5/2016.
I realized today that all of those posts I read back when I first started sobriety about relapsing and how easy it is to do if you let your gaurd down... It's real... It's terribly real and 1 sip slowly and blindly lead me back to not caring, being emotionally numb and making poor decisions...
I'm back now and I am so grateful but it took me 2 and a half years to get 16 days under my belt...
I am glad not to be sick every morning and I've lost about 8lbs..
I really missed sobriety and I am not taking it for granted again
Gunna have to remember how to change my tag

Welcome back! I am so happy you are back at it and working on your recovery again. It gets so easy to slack off and start to forget why we fought so hard for recovery in the first place when we have been sober for awhile.
