One year yesterday
 

Well, I have been gone since April looks like. Apologies for disappearing. I just needed to work on me. It was quite self-centered of me to think about me at a time like this, but it's the only reason I have. My one year was yesterday. God, I didn't know if I'd make it, but here I am. Each day still gets better. Each day I learn something new and each day is brighter. No, not all days and it's not all sunshine and rainbows, but the overall picture has definitely 100% better.
I am learning to play the guitar. Been practicing seriously for a few months now. I can actually play a few songs and sing while I play. So that's a new "me" thing I discovered. I can draw pretty good too...who knew? Hardest thing is still to not be too hard on myself. To not fall into old ways of doing things (minus the drinking). It's easy to revert. So I check in often with myself. Just learning to live life, feel these emotions, and take it one step at a time. If you want to take the time, tell me anything I can expect or suggestions for working on myself after my one year sobriety. Thanks all :) :tyou

Congrats on one year KeyOfC! Learning the guitar was one of the things I returned to when I quit too, it's a very fulfilling thing to do as you can see and hear your progress. Best of luck to you in the next year!

My second year was pretty much learning more about myself, learning to love who I was, and working out how I could be happy.
