Made it tonight

Hi everyone. I wanted to drink tonight because I have a free day tomorrow without much going on but I added up the positives and negatives and was surprised how many positives to not drinking there were. One of my problems is that I can drink and not get out of control but I do it by myself. My problem is that once I start I want to do it most evenings. It may be the fact that I don't get hurt or do things that I regret that much anymore when I drink that makes me think its okay. It really makes that av convincing sometimes. Anyway.. I do not want that life anymore. I am glad I am here. Sober. Thanks SR.

I also want to say that I have had many regrets from drinking in the past and hope my last post didn't sound like I was minimizing it. When I was younger I had a lot of regrets and as I got older I learned how to reduce the bad decisions. Anyway, I have no business drinking. I think by default I try to minimize it. I am glad I am here. Day 5.

You are just about alcohol free physically.

This is when the anxiety, brain damage, starts to ramp up.

It gets worse for a while. Depending on how hard you drank.

Also, you are healing physically.

All this takes many months to stabilize.

Stay clean.

That "free day" is dangerous. I fell victim to that many times. Glad you pulled through. That's a great milestone.
