Oh man...

It's storming up a... errr... storm.... out here right now.

This is not looking good for my bike trip!

My friend is totally pressuring me to go even if the weather is horrible. Um - no???

Picked up the car keys from the dealership just now. We had work done on a recall. Yikes. I hope they fixed whatever they needed to fix. It involved replacing the part the key goes into, the ignition, I guess? And the entire steering column. Sounds major.

Might sell the car on Sunday. Someone's coming to look at it. Husband wants a truck. Wants to throw bikes and kayaks in the back. And dogs in the front, of course. No dogs in the back!

The guy is driving our little camper here right now. I have his cash. Husband is still at work. I will do the exchange.

Random thought. Prednisone is just awful. I'm on the last day of it for this stoopid Bell's Palsey, and my frikkin' heart is pounding and I'm all fidgety and I can't sit still. Ugh. It's like going through withdrawal all over again (okay not really, but the pounding heart thing is really annoying).

You're right. I should've said that if MNL deep fried that sandwich and put it on a stick, then she belongs in Wisconsin.

so I am out back digging and planting. I hear a truck pull up. I look out and it's a fedex truck parked in front of the house. He's there for about ten minutes. I continue to do my thing.
I get out of the shower and go to check the mailbox. Hold it! The big box is still in the driveway!
I guess there is only one thing to do... finish this coffee ice cream!

lunar,,, where do I get me one of them thar tomato pies? yum-mee

it was nasty hot outside today as I worked... I think I'm done for the day...
imagine the two 'tree-like' plants in the middle growing to 5 or 6 feet with about a 3 foot spread and huge pink flowers...

Yikes. It reminds me of the Minnesota State Fair. I both live and work in that area. The smell of frying grease hangs in the air for the duration -- and even for several days after.

I love when cities go all crazy with celebrations and festivities!
I'm thinking of heading down to the grounds this weekend!

It is totally crazy here though! So fun!

Pretty flowers!

One of my old friends just reached out to me. I basically cut off contact with everyone because they're active drug addicts and alcoholics. But something made me write back to her.

Her liver is failing (at the age of 30), she's losing her home, on the verge of losing her job, crashed her car again, and she's been drinking 24 hours a day for months now. She's drinking right now to keep the "confusion and hallucinations" away.
She is suffering, really badly. She got honest with me about everything.

But still - I suggest that I could watch her dog if she goes to detox, or take her to a meeting, and she throws up excuses left right and center. Come on girl - you're DYING here.

Sucks. I know how my own family feels.

well, I did the tiered garden in the back before the fence was up...
then the kids in the neighborhood thought it was a great place to play

then I started thinking about some kid breaking his neck jumping around all that, then lawyers etc.. so I called the fence people to put it up quick... the entire property is on a slope... but if I ever replace the fence, I'll make sure to level the runners for ya...
and unless the neighbor levels his yard, not much else I can do...
