How are you doing?

I'm a bit nervous heading into the weekend as me and the family are going to the beach for 4 days. But I've got this. My wife will help me stay in check, and I want nothing more than to enjoy this weekend sober and present.

Just saw your story Mike. Congrats on 10 Plus days. The beginning is the hardest. I'm at 3 months and a few days. It does get easier. I promise. I noticed a sense of surrender in your writing near the end of your relapses. This is huge. Give yourself a hug you deserve it. Another thing, I didn't get into any type of program until I was almost 3 weeks sober. It was dangerous on my part but I did it. I was amazed at the amount of love I felt when I walked in to those rooms. Be kind to yourself dear. You are doing a wonderful job. It will get easier.

And I will add, I built up the courage to walk into those rooms because of the support of sober recovery and it's members.

How are you feeling, Mike? Sleeping well? The best ever? At this point I sure was (and still am)!

I am happy to report that my son and I are back from our long weekend trip and I got through it sober. This included a concert by one of my favorite bands, two cookouts, a trip to the zoo, and lots of hanging out until late at night. My buddies drink periodically but aren't alcoholics, no one was abusing alcohol so I wasn't the weird guy or anything. Had a great time, didn't waste half of each day with a hangover! Great!
