My talk went great!
So I was asked to speak on the 2nd step tonight at this meeting. I just wanted to let everyone know that it went great. I will probably be asked to do another in the future. Thanks for the support!

Basically I split it up into a few things.
Intro- Introduced myself, told why I was speaking, how I felt about speaking.
Talked about the powerlessness of the alcoholic both mentally and physically. I wanted to transition into the 2nd step and show why we needed to look to a power greater than ourselves. I mentioned "There is a solution" and "More about alcoholism".
Then I went on to the 2nd step. "Came to believe that power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity."
I broke that up into 3 parts.
Believe
Power greater than ourselves
Insanity
...and spoke about my experience with each of these and what I have learned about them.
Ended with a quote from Father Martin that essentially said, "When an alcoholic looks to a power greater than self because the strength is not in self he or she can be restored to normal, rational thinking."
