saying goodbye to pain meds

I have been addicted to pain med since a 31 day hospital stay in 2008.
After I few years I realized I had gone from pain relief to addiction. I have tried CT a few times and even after a week I can't function. Recently I have been up to as many as 10 norcos per day (10-325)
In the last 3 day I have limited myself to 4 per day and I can function with very low energy but don't know what to do next. 62 years old. Please offer suggestions.

Welcome to SR bildermash. That's a lot of drugs to just quit cold turkey, have you discussed this with your prescribing physician?

It's gonna take more than a week to get back to "normal".

I would come clean with your doctor, and I can tell you that NA worked for me.

There is no magical pain-free way to get off of them though. The good news is that you only have to do it once.

Welcome to the family. :) I would also advise talking to your doctor about getting off them safely. :)

Hi and welcome bildermash :)

I have no experience to share, but I agree that I'd see your Dr. for their input :)
