Thank you

I didn't drink again today. I recently found the " stories of recovery section" . I read one or two every night . Some I read several times. It is the most powerful motivation I have ever found. You guys are something special. To come from such a dark place and be so successful in sobriety and life and help people like me. I hope to write mine someday. If your new here you may want to take a look. It gives me such hope that I can do this. Thank you so much

So glad that you're here Matt. SR has been monumental in my success i sobriety. It helps to know that there are others going through the same thing and it also shows there is hope and this can be done!

Keep reading and posting.

Mattq2, when I joined, I did the same thing.

I got through the week sober, and continued from there. So many times, I tried on my own and wound up drinking. It wasn't until I joined SR that I found the strength to actually stay sober.

So happy to hear the Stories of Recovery helped you.

That's Great Mattq2!! There are so many moving and motivating stories here. I'm glad you're reading up. When you have some free time, try to find a thread by "FreeOwl" called "First I had to, then I just did, then I wanted to"

I found and still find this very encouraging for me whenever I look back and read it.

I would direct you right to it if I knew how but I'm still learning the site. If someone else can direct Mattq2 there, I would appreciate that too.

Yes, Matt - it's great to know we're not alone. Many have traveled this road before you, and we're happy to share what we've learned. I'm so glad you found us. You can get free.

I didn't mention any specific names because I didn't know If it was appropriate. Many of the ones I have been reading are from people who help here everyday. So much respect for their accomplishments. I want to be one of them one day!!!

I agree so much!!!

I have spent lots of hours hanging here reading and distracting myself. I have learned so much.

Reading and relating is great help and it has helped me change my life.

I am not alone, we are not alone!!!

Thanks everyone for contributing here.
