Hi i am Anna

Today is the first day of the rest of my alcohol free life

, I am 53 and have been fighting a losing battle with the bottle and enough is enough. It has me beat, I cannot control it but I know I can choose not to drink, and so here I am wanting to mark this momentous occasion somehow, and what better way than to celebrate the fact that I am not alone in this. Thanks for being here for me and I hope I can be of help to anyone needing a supporting hand. I have not had a drink today and I am thankful

Welcome, Anna!

Many of us who are able to stay sober put quite a lot of effort into it. I go to AA meetings and spend a lot of time here at SoberRecovery. Read around and post often--it works if you work it!

I feel so excited and know it will make a difference to me, as drinkers I think start off as social beings, but secret drinking really does change us and prevent us being all that we are.

You will find a lot of great advice and support here. Look into joining the July class thread. I joined the June class and it has helped me tremendously!
