What is kindling?
What is kindling?
Hi SR,
Since I have been back, I have noticed people talking about kindling but can't find any posts specifically describing it. What is kindling?
Thanks and good to be back,

Here's one

in Wiki-speak, Kindling is 'where repeated alcohol detoxifications leads to an increased severity of the withdrawal syndrome'.
The longer we drink, the worse it gets.

Thanks Dee74 and August,
I appreciate the links. It was strange. I quit 15 days ago and didn't notice withdrawal effects until recently. I wasnt surprised because I wasn't drinking a lot but was regularly drinking 2-4 beers a night and more on Friday. Anyway, three days ago I was really agitated and that night had bad night sweats and felt shakey. It was only one night but since then I have had fatigue and felt foggy. I am really looking for this to be over. The first time I quit was rough but it started nearly the next day. This is definitely different than last time and hope it is over soon. I really missed being sober for those 8-9 months. It felt great. I quit because I wanted that back again and want to be my best.
The kindling phenomenon is scary though. I am glad to know about this.
