Moderation or abstinence?
Ironhorse, I found freedom in surrender.
Once I waved my white flag and admitted 'defeat' regarding alcohol in my life, then I was able to claim victory over alcohol by choosing NOT to drink.
I choose to remain victoriously sober!

I think everyone is different but abstinence is best. My personal experience, if I was out socially I can go to a bar socially and have to shots. As I am a wino, the second I'd get home I would need a bottle of wine. I've tried that on many day twos since I drank wine at home in isolation. For me, even though I could moderate at a bar, any liquor was a gateway to more wine.
