dont consider myself an alchoholic but need advice about something im panicking over dui related

after going to the bar to do kareoke and having a couple of drinks was pulled over and cited for failure to come to a complete stop (90 dollar ticket) because I was honest and up front with law officials, I did not get booked into the jail which was a 3 hour ride away in a rural area the only problem came when I did the one leg balance test. Beings as I am a bigger guy, it is hard for me to do that even when I have not drank alchohol. My questions are 1. what are the odds that I will face jail time and 2. should i plead guilty and get everything done and over with?

what did you blow in BAC?

I'd get a lawyer no matter what. Trust me I've been there.

Here's a chart I found. I'll tell you this....this is one big reason I'm glad I don't have to worry about that stuff anymore. Good luck! Looks like if they go by the chart, which I don't really know, it doesn't look positive. I'm no judge or lawyer, but talk to a lawyer! You could at least hopefully get a lesser charge.

Do not plead guilty and get a lawyer. The legal system will eat you alive if you plead guilty by thinking you are doing the right thing.

I can tell you one thing, I got pulled over for speeding, got pulled out for a field sobriety test, did them and then specifically asked the arresting officer if I passed the sobriety test. He said yes, but I still believe you "may" be over the limit. Done deal.

Yeah, that's way up there.

Again, my advice is to seek professional legal advice - we don't do that here.

If you do decide you have a drinking problem, tho?

Dee, .08 is the legal limit. Its actually quite low. People have blown .24 and up while driving.

Going off the chart Razorblade posted Jeff.
Lets not forget, that BAC is still illegal in Idaho...

Something similar happened to my son. He didn't get a lawyer and they gave him a "wet reckless." He still lost his license for a year and had to do months of community work.

Get a good lawyer! Do not plead guilty without the advice of a lawyer. They'll eat you alive. Good luck!

I would talk to a lawyer for sure, I'm not 100%, but I don't think the field sobriety tests are even considered accurate, and the official one at the police station is the one they go off of.

Couldn't agree more! Get a good lawyer, call about 5-6 and tell them your story and get their thoughts..

Good luck!! I've been there too!
