Hi Kaily

I can't stress this highly enough really - if you or someone you love is withdrawing and in trouble the very best thing - and IMO the only responsible thing - is see a Dr as soon as possible.

I have asked my family before. And they said absolutely not!
They said what Dee above said..if you are that bad, get to the A&E.
I was not best happy, but glad they didn't because it would have only dragged the bender on longer and made the withdrawals harder.
I feel for you, I really do, only on day 3 myself, and still not right.

No! No! No!

If your symptoms are mild you can possibly do it at home (I did) but since none of us know your situation, consumption, etc - and bc all symptoms don't just happen at once and poof! gone after a few days, though they will lessen- isn't a hospital bill and your safety, possibly life, better than the chance?

It would be the right time to call your dr or go to an ER.

Kaily, maybe ask them to get you some help. Either the ER or the doctor. There is no need to suffer through withdrawals, they can be so dangerous.

Please be safe.

On my first sober day I had a telephone consultation with my GP who prescribed some medication after hearing my history from the binge I had been on .
I lied to my family saying "the GP says its ok to have one or two drinks " thats how desperate and strong the cravings were . They didn't believe me and gave me none and asked me to tell them the truth . I knew my plan wasn't going to work so I told them I was prescribed medication .
I know how you felt , it's not really you its the withdrawal . Best getting medical help if in doubt .

What medication did your GP give you?

If I was in bad withdrawals, my family would get me to the hospital, not the liquor store.

Im sorry but I dont think it wise or helpful for me to discuss specific medications . Remember everyone is different so I encourage you to speak to your doctor as abrupt alcohol withdrawal is dangerous .
