Have a great summer!
Morning all--I'm off to pick organic blueberries while it is still a little cool.
Been a nice weekend driving the new car and trying to figure out all the
features with the manual.
I feel like I'm Captain Kirk / Picard (choose your generation) on the deck
of the Enterprise with no Spock . . .

Imagine you had Sobered-up, and were putting your sordid past behind you. Skip the old Haunts. Take a Route Home not past that fav Liquor Store. However, some reminders couldn't be shaken, and were a constant reminder. Like your Surname, for example. A local County Commissioner has Election Signs everywhere. His name?
Douglas Casebier
Here's another one to make you feel instantly normal on this Monday Morning. We studied Satie at University in Music Classes. Definitely marched to his own Drummer. Our over-consumption of Ice Cream seems pretty normal compared with eating only White Food, eh? OCD much?

It's forecast to hit 102 F [39 C] here today. Shake & Bake. After MesaMate returns from Pilates, we're headed down to The Big City for Celebratory Sushi. Ye Olde 35th Wedding Anniversary is today. I add on >4 years of Living In Sin [and buying our first House back then], and call it 39 Years total. We still pretty much on a no Alcohol Stint around here, so - of course - Married Life is predictably good. We go our separate ways tomorrow for 10 Days. That, and totally-separate Financials, nips most all Conflict in the Bud.
MesaMate's HS Principal used to drag her in circa '78, and demand to know when we were getting Married so as to stave off Community Complaints. Meanwhile, the Driver's Ed Teacher was driving underage Girls out to Back Roads to see 'how badly' they wanted to pass his Class. A: pretty badly. The Married Bank Prez was shagging his Secretary on the side while joining in the clamor against our then-Alt Lifestyle in Cow Town Colorado. This Upstanding Citizen, and his Wife, crashed our Wedding and Reception; despite not being invited. 'Etiquette is overrated' ~ Me
I carry my residual Opinion of such Hypocrites into the Voting Booth this November.

Morning everyone.
I fell asleep early last night and I feel absolutely horrible today. Not tired but achy all over, I don't know if I was tossing and turning or got beat up in my sleep.
Glad you are safe Jen, safe travels today. P.S. You are not allowed to disappear.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning, folks. I so wanted to play hooky today. Perfect day outside - high of 80, sunny, low humidity. I woke up out of sorts this morning. I'm having inner conflict about many things, which I won't bore you with. I just feel uncomfortable in my skin. Like I'm not being true to myself in some way. I need to get to the bottom of this. I pushed it all aside for the weekend, but wouldn't you know it, it's all still there. I hate this feeling.
OK, back in Blighty
Yes I bought one Venecia - Neufchatel cheese comes in heart shaped boxes her on account of the fact that if you eat one you will need a heart transplant - they have a higher fat content than US Neufchatel. They taste rather good though
My Lancia, being 50 years old, has a traditional boot or trunk which is a good thing when buying cheeses from abroad.
Many years ago when travelling to France with the then Mrs Saoutchik we purchased a Camenbert (they are given a military title depending on their size and we bought a General, sealed with a green ribbon)
At that time we owned a hatchback, one of the rare, sensible cars that I have owned so the Camenbert was stored in the back. Now unfortunately coming back from France it was one of the hottest days ever combined with a monster Bank Holiday traffic jam
The whiff that resulted from this situation was enough to make your eyes bleed. I recommend it to anyone who wants to mask the smell of drugs from sniffer dogs who point blank refused to come close. We were waved through customs at high speed

Glad you made it back safely Sao. Cheese. Mmmm.
Marty, I'm sorry you're feeling down. Hopefully you will figure it out. I've got a lot on my mind too and shoving it aside just prolongs the agony. At least, that is my opinion.
Mesa, when I went to my college reunion a week ago I was reminded that there is a Bud Weiser chevy dealership in town. That's a moniker I'd change if I could. Happy anniversary!
I walked over the river today and looked down as I crossed over. Saw something floating in the water and because my mind said "it's a duck" that's what I thought it was until it registered that it was actually a large turtle. Pretty cool. Both the turtle and the way the mind works. You expect it to be a bird because that's what you've always seen there and it isn't.
