The Other Habits / Traits
I have a Month of sobriety now and while I feel much better I still have a lot work to do. After reading some good posts about some habits we have over and above our old drinking one I am going to make an honest list of mine with a view to working through them and to replace with healthier ways of living a sober life .
Bad Habits
1: Eating high carb processed junk as comfort food .
2:Vaping e-cig
3: long periods of lounging .
4: Ruminating over events/occurrences out of my control.
5:Fretting over health , catastrophizing ,thinking the worst .
6:Cursing at other drivers and traffic lights etc .
7:Wishing time would go slower , go faster .
8:Moping alone ,wanting to be alone to think .
9:Moaning about bad weather , letting it bring my mood down. (#4)
10:Not patient with difficult old neighbour lady and some co-workers
I'm sure I can find more but those are my main ones .
I'm not a total wreck mind you as my garden is well looked after and home decor etc is in order .I have a job and provide well and have much to be grateful for .

Congrats on a month!! It's a great idea to have these kinds of things written down to work on. I wonder if working on a couple at a time might be the best solution for a couple reasons..... One, so as not to get frustrated trying to fix too much too fast. And two, at a month or so of sobriety your body/mind hasn't healed enough to help you with some of the things on your list, and it will. It will take some time, (I know you wish it would go faster) but in time, you'll see some of these things become much easier to learn how to manage and cope with. Hang in there like you've been. You're doing Great at your 1 month mark!
1 month is awesome.
You are physically no longer addicted.
Expect the av to ramp up now as you work to cope w the good and bad days of our lives.
Isn't waking up sober the best? I pound a bottle of water first thing to start my sober routine.

My sponsor told me that we take care of our addictions in the order that they're killing us.
For me it was quitting the drugs, then smoking cigarettes, then toxic relationships.
Recovery is a life long process, and steps 6, 7 and 10 are something we work on over time. (Actually all of the steps are).
My sponsor told me another truth early in recovery.
The easiest thing to do is to talk spiritually. The next easiest thing to do is to act spiritually. The hardest thing to do is to think spiritually.
Fortunately, we have time. As long as you're moving in the right direction, amazing changes happen over time.

pmsl Thomas 11 , Jef . See that was one o my bad traits in action paying attention to things that I shouldn't like superman up there . Come to think of it alcohol is to me what cryptonite is to superman . Kryptonite an alien mineral with the property of depriving Superman of his powers.
Thanks all
