10 things to do this weekend instead of drinking
Ideas!!!! Go!!
1. Anxiety? Download a podcast and go for a walk. One of my favourite anxiety relief techniques.
2. Make mint lemonade or basil limeade. Pour over ice and sip in the sun.
3. Promise that by Sunday you'll get X off your to do list. For me this is new hooks in the bathroom and knobs on drawers in bedrooms.
4. Check out a new neighbourhood.
5. Try to see either open water or a forest.
7. Go for an old school Sunday drive
8. Hang in a bookstore a read until you find something you can't put down
9. Volunteer
10. Watch The Americans or Grace & Frankie on Netflix
11. Write a real letter or postcard to someone
12. Clean something annoying (under the sink in the kitchen
More ideas! Go!!!

Weelllllll, I can do anything because when I drink all I do is, um, drink
Your list looks great! I do hot yoga too, in the morning. There is no way to drink the night before and make it through a class. I love the yoga so much that it does really act as a deterrent.
I hope your anxiety is easing!

1. Go to a coffee shop, order your favourite, indulge in something sweet and people watch.
2. Go to a national park.
3. Go to the museum.
4. Bake!
5. Watch a movie.
6. Clean out your wardrobe - give things you're never going to wear again to charity.
7. Rediscover a hobby. I am going to start sewing again this weekend.
8. Make a kitchen windowsill herb garden. (This is genuinely on my to-do list!)
9. Call a friend. Reconnect. Make plans to do something fun with them.
10. Make a meal plan for the coming week, grocery shop and get ahead with some batch cooking. Sadly, this is also on my to-do list this weekend.

Anyone else want to contribute their ideas?
Made soup for a sick friend
Cleaned the wet dust from behind the toilet
Organized my linen closet (nightmare)
Put away the winter stuff
Taking out my single dad friend and his kids to do something fun today
Going for a jog with my SO
Watching the local softball team play
Reading the newspaper over coffee

Saturday was always movie day. I never ever went out and sat at home alone with a pile of movies sometimes still buzzed from the Friday night before. I would sit inside all day and watch them all day long.
I have a large pile of unwatched movies and I am thinking about watching one. I have been up for 10 hours and have gone outside running, went shopping, and have cleaned the entire house. I woke up at 5am and it's either this or go back to sleep.
I never missed a Saturday movie day when drinking. I wonder if I should do this or if it's my AV sneaking in. I am out of alcohol in a dry house so I can't really drink anything but I haven't watched a horror movie sober in over 5 years. I am due in D&A treatment this week with urine testing plus I have a large family dinner tomorrow. I can't mess this up right?
Edit: This was supposed to be a new post and I threw it under this section because I was looking for things to do!!!! Sorry!!!!

Do some gardening - sobriety for me has given a new appreciation for the world, if gardening isn't your thing just take all the natural beauty we have around us.
Do some grounding - walking on the earth barefoot
Meditation
Learn the guitar
Write a letter
Go to a gig
Start writing a book
Hug a tree
Go to the beach
Play on the swings in the park

Since I messed up this post, I want to add one-
My new favorite hobby is listening to the police scanner. I am listening to the people being busted for DUI and other offenses outside of my bars I used to hang out at.
I am not trying to be a jerk, It is a real wake-up call to hear your "friends" being arrested on the scanner.
Its keeping me sober. I also live in a small town so this may not work for everyone. It erases the "man I wish I would've gone out I am so alone" option real fast. The one cop said hes got one coming to the jail, another cant fit in the car, he will be back for him. They are reading off license plates like bingo numbers.

That surely keeps any thoughts of drinking and driving at bay! Just curious, how do you listen to that? Is there an app?
Purge a closet - then donate clothing.
Rearrange the furniture for a fresh perspective.

Home pedicure or facial
Google funny animal videos and laugh
