Help

I really need some help please?

I binge drink so can do says without alcohol and will then drink loads. I want to find a private alcohol support centre as I cant go to the local alcohol service due to my job. Doe anyone know of any where in England where I can get this support? Also I think I want medication - disulfiram so the place needs to be able to prescribe.

Ant support is sooooo much appreciated. x

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with resources in your area - but I'd suggest perhaps talking with your GP for a start.

This forum is a great place for anonymous and 24x7 support.

AA is a free and easy way to get some face-to-face community that can help you with a positive environment for experience and insight around recovery.

I hope you hit this right up front with all you've got, before it gets worse.

Hi Lizzie,

I concur with FreeOwl, book an appt with your GP who can give you advise about treatment centres and medication. Disulfiram would need to be prescribed by a doctor I believe

Hi Lizzi

I'm glad you want to quit. Google detox facilities in your area and I think you'll find what you need. Social workers at hospitals can usually give good info also. And like the others have said, a dr or therapist that understands addiction should be able to direct you.

If you search the internet for private rehabs around England and close to you that will be your best bet or talking to the local drugs and alcohol team in your area again search & make a few calls and let us know how you get on

on the right hand side of the page youl see find facilities scroll to the bottom in the search area of that for uk programs

Hi Lizzie,

Starting with your doctor is good advice. They will be able to help you find the best place, and also discuss medication.

Glad you have decided to quit!
