Day 7!
I am so excited that I have made it 7 days.
It was full of cravings, emotional triggers, stress, but also hope and inspiration.
I withstood the cravings and sat in my anguish and feelings rather than giving in to them. I know that I can do this now.
I have been so unbelievably inspired by the support and wisdom of folks on this site as well as the wonderful people and their stories at the AA group I am attending.
Yesterday, I was so excited to go to AA. I am learning that I don't have to go through this life alone and deal with things by being high or drunk.
I can't wait to learn healthy and positive coping strategies to replace my old defaults.
The best advice I heard yesterday at my meetings was to "hold on tight".

Congrats on 7 days! Great work, I found that after the first week cravings really started to slowly get better and better. Just like it took us a long time to get fully into our addictions, our body and mind takes time to heal also. Whenever I would start to get discouraged and annoyed that things weren't happening faster I would remind myself of that little saying.
Keep up the great work!
