Painting my bathroom without a glass of wine
I just asked my husband to buy me some wine. I'm scared, I haven't done this before since quitting. In 6 months I've had thoughts but never asked my husband to buy me wine....i am angry and feel nervous about the way i feel. Its all because I am decorating my bathroom and I just really want to have a glass of wine whilst doing it.
My husband quite rightly refused and said he will be no part in me ever drinking again. I dont want to be feeling like this and feel like I have failed and I haven't even drank yet. Help.....

Learning to recognize your triggers and how to deal with them is imperative in recovery.
Leave the redecorating for another time. Go for a walk, exercise, occupy your mind with anything you have to. Your AV is trying to trick you !
You haven't failed, we all hear that voice from time to time. You don't have to act on your thoughts.

On a positive note, you'll do a better job painting without the wine! But yeah, there are certain situations that feel like they call for a drink. Sort of like an abusive boyfriend -- when you look back on it, sometimes you can only see the good things. Glad your husband took a stand. It means he loves you.

Ok, you caved to the AV but you didn't go out to buy it yourself - you asked your husband, and he said no. Now move on from the moment. You are sober, right? Just move on.
