Amitriptyline

Hi friends,

I hope that you're all well,

I've been suffering with insomnia recently and my doc has prescribed me with Amitriptyline, has anyone else had this before?

Thank you,

Bruno.

Yes I take it Bruno.

I find it helps me a lot. Been on it for a couple of months now.

I used to find it hard waking up in the morning and felt sluggish all day.
Now I am used to it and feel fine.
It can take time to work, so don't expect results straight away.

My dr prescribed amitriptyline for depression for me and it works pretty well for me. I take it at night because it does seem to cause drowsiness. I hope it helps you.

I take 25 milligrams at night.
Prescribed for better sleep due to fibromyalgia.
It works well and at that low dosage I've had no side effects.

I've been on it for a few years for nerve pain. It made me drowsy in the beginning but not anymore.

Only other side effect is a dry mouth - again, not anymore

GP wanted me to try it for fibromyalgia general aching but declined for fear of drowsiness , I may reconsider having read the above

I had a horrible reaction to it. For about theee weeks after I took it, I had panic attacks and severe tremors. As it turns out, my mother and sister have both had a similar reaction to a related drug. But, I think that reaction is fairly rare.
