Giving my clothes to charity

Hello everyone just thought I'd post this as an idea as I'm doing so

It makes lots of free space and is a small project you can feel good about

And in the process I strengthened the cupboard rail with new fittings

Always a good thing! And, ok this isn't charity, but H&M (kind of a cheap womens clothing store) recycles clothing...and they give you a discount. So, while not charity, it is green!

Salvation Army has had my info for many years. Helps support the recovering alcoholics and addicts they work with!

We like to give to the Salvation Army the things we are not using they help a lot of people so as to get sober and have a one-year free recovery program.

A nice sober day wished for all,
Bob

And if yiu have decent stuff you can ebay it and do an online donation so that tax isn't taken from the donated money.

We give our stuff to Salvation Army and Value Village (diabetes cure).

I did a huge purge a month after I got sober and have been continuing as I organize and live more of a minimalist lifestyle.

It helped me, not just to give and recycle, but I got rid of clothes or stuff that brought back unpleasant drinking memories.

Thanks for the topic on green living

That is a nice thing to do.
I must admit that I do frequent the charity shops, buy good stuff and sell it on Ebay as I am on a very low income.
The charity doesn't lose out but I often do when things sell for less than I payed!

I always bring my clothes to DV centers instead of thrift shops, feels good to know it's going straight to a family in need.
