So I just had my first dinner out without having a drink in about 8 years. I got a cranberry, seltzer and lime, and i had a lot more fun than I ever thought possible. Everyone else at the table had a drink. It was weird, I laughed and joked just as much as I normally would. I just noticed everyone got so freaking loud! Day 7 almost complete

Finallyrdy - that's wonderful news. My first time out I was still a bit resentful & sorry for myself. I don't know why, drinking had ceased to be fun long ago. You're doing great - and it'll keep getting better. Glad you had fun & proved a point to yourself.

Good job! Like Hevyn, I was quite resentful early on, which was crazy because alcohol was killing me. I'm glad you had fun.

I noticed I was a little bit resentful of the food taking awhile. Usually I would love that, as it provides another drink opportunity. That was the only real thing I noticed being annoyed about. And just feeling slightly awkward because everyone at the table knew that I am not drinking so I felt the "all eyes on me" sort of phenomenon, especially when I was asked what drink I wanted.
