Valium for withdrawal
Hello I need some advice. I've been sober for almost 3 years but recently had to have back surgery. I was on Percocet a week before my surgery then 3 weeks after. I couldn't stand taking it anymore so my dr gave me Valium do help with the withdrawals. He gave me 20 and I've been taking them since wed night they are def helping but I'm nervous I will get addicted to them in a matter of a week. Is this true? Really need some advice.
Talk to your doc and see what they say.
A little odd that they would hand out Valium for possible withdrawals for one month of Percocet, but I'm not a physician.
In my experience, it's not about becoming addicted, it's about being an addict. (In NA we tend to use the word "addiction" the same way they use the term "alcohol-ISM" in AA). The drug doesn't matter all that much, what matters is if we are getting loaded, why we are using it, is it making our lives unmanagable, and are we being honest?
