I've been off and on here for years, with a few runs of clean time ranging up to 16 months. I recently went back to treatment (4th time) and now I am living in a halfway house (1st time). Today is 48 days.
The difference this time is that I am absolutely putting recovery first. I have said it before but I truly believe this is my time. I want to be sober more than anything because without sobriety I have nothing. It's taken me a long long time to reach this point. I wish I surrendered years ago but it took what it took. Luckily I have been given another chance - we all know that many don't make it :-(
I'm coming back here to establish another support channel where I can both give and receive. I'm grateful for this community, which provides opportunity to be accountable, loving, and involved.
