So now I am completely down. I told my husband today was 30 days and he said congratulations and immediately followed it up with an insult. In the same breath. Why do I bother?

Congratulations on the 30 days! That's a true milestone.
I experienced the same thing you did at 30 days. Came home with my 30 day chip all ecstatic as it's the first time I made it that far since we had been married. Showed my chip to my husband who said "That's great, come and talk to me maybe after 90 days". I was pretty devastated and floored. Until I sat there and realistically thought about all that I had put him through. I couldn't deny the pain I had caused and understood that it was going to take some time for him to develop some trust. Plus, who am I really doing this for?
I learned quickly that my best place for support is here. He isn't an addict (at least not with booze or pills) so he doesn't understand what it takes to reach a milestone.
We all know what hard work it is. Keep on keeping on!
