Ken, you do live in a beautiful place! I've only made it to one lighthouse in Maine, Bass Harbor in Acadia park. It's not the tallest one I've seen, but the setting is fantastic.

I leave for travels Saturday and hope to have nice pics to share.

Keep your pics coming and have a great vacation!

Looks lovely Ken and great pics.

Wish I had the capability to post them but alas a complete and utter technophobe with anything like that.

We're off away this evening for a week in a large house in the North Yorkshire countryside, lovely part of the country and foodie heaven round there with a Food Festival on this weekend in the local town to where we're staying - of course when I booked this it was also noted that it was a beer festival too - that side of it will be swerved as will the country pub I purposely booked our place opposite - first holiday but with all of my family, none are drinkers at all really and know where I'm at so be good to be around them assuming the wife and my sister can put up with each other !!

Staying a couple of miles from Castle Howard where Brideshead Revisited was filmed so plan is to get out each morning for a run to around and back from there amongst plenty of other things - one I'm really looking forward to is 'Go APE' with my daughter, climbing trees and zip wires etc, been saying we'll do it for ages and finally going to get to do it - should be fun.

Have a great time in Maine Ken it looks amazing.

RedAndy, allow me to assist with a picture of Castle Howard. What wonderful grounds to walk!!! Enjoy!

You can see the trolley in the picture.

Goooood Morning!!!

Since this is an unplanned bonus day I got I will set myself right. Too much time has been an issue for me. As I have learned to live my sober plan I know a full house of food. A clean house. A clean me (all shaved and spiffy). And finally all laundry done.

That right there is a huge thing that I must do today to support myself this week. So no great pictures. Nothing astounding to report. Just old fashion get this sheet done.

Now... Do I clean with clothes or without. Hmmmmm.....

does this count as shotgun for day 2?

thanks for sharing with us weasey...

Mark, I am curious, the pic of bass light house, is that a stock pic or did you take it yourself?
I was there last year and it was pretty much an off limits kind of place.

I just want to expound on the pic I posted for those who might be just beginning their recovery journey. It's a little more than 8 months since I stopped drinking. Mostly thanks to this site my life has changed dramatically. I'm still early in recovery but since stopping I've lost 40 lbs, gotten back into good physical shape and most importantly, gained confidence in myself and rekindled passions that were on hold for 30 years. Life really is so much better with sobriety. If I can do this after the better part of 40 years of daily drinking anyone can.
