Great job shutdown. Never loose sight of why you won't drink today. As time goes by, we tend to loose focus, lose perspective and get complacent. Always have a plan in place for when you are feeling weak.

You and your wife are both doing great.

Welcome to the posting side of things here at SR.

It has helped my sobriety mx. Keep involved, it is a form of accountability.

Glad things are working towards the positive.

We are old, young, and in between. But, what we have in common is....

We are all drug addicts. Booze is a drug. I get through my tough times by telling myself that ea. Time i start to think i can have a sip of booze .

Thanks for the post.

Probably had Ice Cream a half dozen times in the last 5 years. Rediscovering it has been great. Yesterday I bought some Ben & Jerrys Salted Caramel Coconut Ice Cream. Who knew all the flavors they have now. Wow.

Wife is volunteering today with a bunch of others from our running team at the Local Public School Olympics at the City's Football/Track Stadium. It's a beautiful day here & should be a good test of her endurance. I am happy she is getting outside & socializing. Something she has been avoiding.

Welcome and good job so far.

Sounds like you are both taking this seriously. Your symptoms are very normal in many of our experiences - they will evolve, pass, change as you keep getting sober. Hers will probably be different but will also go through a process; I had a lot of the same issues and spent time in the hospital in 2003 for them - total of a wk, wk and half in Nov/Dec and still didn't stop drinking. I quit 100 days ago after my now liver Dr absolutely kicked my ass. Good for her for taking this seriously, too.

Newness with a focus always inspires me when someone shares their specifics. You sound like you have a lot to live healthily for!! Good luck to you both!

Congratulations on you and your wife's sober time! Also glad to hear she is recovering from what must have been quite a health scare, but it sounds like it was a wake-up call.

Chocolate and other sweets are good craving busters

Wow, what an ordeal. But if that' s what it took, then at least you've come out of it sober. Glad things are working out and you're staying sober together.
You're here on SR, what kind of support does she have other than you?
