Courage to Change
Hello, I have just joined this site, this is my first time,. I have just admitted to myself that I am an alcoholic. Last weekend my boyfriend and I got in an argument when we were both drunk and broke up. I am going through much guilt and remorse, and sadness. I am making steps now to live a sober life
The first step is sometimes the most difficult but you did it, welcome! It may seem hard, but by committing to one day at a time, you'll be surprised at how quickly you'll be able to accumulate sobriety time, and even more surprised at how great you will feel once your mind and body have the opportunity to heal.

Healing as mentioned is key. There is no quick fix for what we go through, you are on the right track admitting your powerless around alcohol. It gets better every sober day that goes by.
Welcome Ayla.
It's great that you are taking steps to get sober and recover. What does your plan look like so far? If it is still being drawn up, there are some great links on here about making a sobriety plan than could be useful. One thing most of us learn is that while it does amount to not picking up a drink, there are other changes that we can make in our lives that help us with this.

Welcome, Ayla!
I'm happy that you decided to post. You won't find a more supportive community anywhere on the internets.
It's tough in the beginning, but life begins to improve so quickly once you're through the initial rough patch. Stay the course and post often!
