Don't feel terrible. I appreciate your post. For me the only other option besides picking myself and trying again is being miserable until I die. So, I'm choosing not to drink today, despite how other people may look down on me for my failure the past times I've tried.

Don't. Early recovery is an emotional roller coaster. Ride it out. Don't let it knock you for a loop.

And this is an internet forum. Don't let it upset you.

Guys if you have a problem or a disagreement with another member who's not the OP, why not PM that member?

This is Ginger Teas thread - lets not lose sight of that

Hi Ginger

When I was first here I had a guy who really burned my biscuits.

I thought 'this bozo has no social skills and no compassion - he doesn't understand me at all'.

Turns out he understood me just fine - nearly ten years later I can still quote some of the things he told me and I've used them multiple times myself and with others.

The words stung at the time - but truthfully *everything* was stinging me at the time. I was very new to feeling.

His words cut through - & now I'm grateful he cared enough to give it to me straight.

And no it's not a current member, lol.
