Yep this is da place. Posted in your other thread but I'll post here too. You still have your prescription right? That should really help. Hang in there. Seems like hell now, I know. Just went through it a week ago. But it will get better.

I'm on a new Day One today also. Yesterday was a new Day One as well, and then I found myself joining this forum with a beer in my hand.

All

I have never spend a more hellish horrible frightening day . I actualy slept not too bad woke at 7am and for some reason I got worse as the day went on . The meds took the edge off things drank lots of water , had a light couple of sandwiches about 7 pm , Its easing up now so hoping for a decent night .

Thanks

getting through the night but had 2 big panic attacks 11pm woke up sweat lashing from me filled with fear started wrenching for 5 minutes ,drinking water managed to settle but having very weird sensations ,thoughts and mild hallucinations as I drift off ,scary stuff .Self talked myself out of the unwanted thoughts ,still very sweaty got back to sleep and woke u with another panic attack at 1.30 same intense fear then more wrenching ,settled a bit and decided to stay awake for a while so came here , I think its getting yourself out of your mind that helps if that makes sense .
Got some light jobs lined up later around the garden , I'm aching from head to toe lying around .

You're doing great Thomas. Those panic attacks while trying to sleep are really normal. Just make sure you get medical help is if you need it. Can you get some Lucozade/Gatoraid? Really kind of yucky stuff but good when you're detoxing.

checking in . Had a slightly better day , shaking stopped but feeling very depressed . Done some light tidying out a shed and dumped it in the local depot .
Needed to change a tyre on a bike but couldn't focus . A simple job and I decided to put it off a few days .
Had a meeting with drug and alcohol people well a 1 to 1 , did,t like the guy atall he was too concerned about DVLA knowing I have a problem and if he thought I was drink driving hed had to inform the police , I went out feeling worse just didn't take to his arttitude . Anyway got some info on SMART recovery to checking that out right now .
So tired

Thanks

Can you changes counselors? It's hard for me to be open with someone I don't like. And, I sure wouldn't want to take their direction.
Sounds like the worst is behind you.

Keep up the great work and remember, you never have to go through this again if you do the time and work it takes to change your life and truly find recovery.
Reminding myself that it was up to me to not have to ever go through this again helped motivate me a lot in the beginning.

Keep up the great work! We all know what you are going through and are here for you when you need us!

Welcome Thomas. I'm on day three. Keep your head up. And stay strong. Take it minute by minute if you have to. That's what I'm trying to do.
