I was on last night in a chat.. But I can't post or send reply emails until I have 5 posts.. Am I am the right spot for a newcomer?

Welcome mariaij, you are definitely in the right place for newcomers. You do have to wait until you have 5 posts before sending PM's to to other SR members directly, but you are welcome to post here in the forums as much as you like.
