*Ring Ring* Sober Weekender May 6
I'm in!
Gosh I forgot today was Thursday for a while there. I was checking last week's thread and thinking it was quiet... Duh!
Off to another day of work. More training today. I hope my old brain can hold all this stuff.

Congrats Nons! Hope you're feeling better, too!
HAF...how was your seminar?
Mex...letting go to move forward. Guess that's what it's all about right? You're setting yourself up for opportunity and growth and all that good stuff
Last day of the work week for me! Mother's Day stuff Saturday and Sunday, should be fun! . Now to guzzle more coffee and try to make myself presentable lol!

Thank you, Ken and Mex, for ringing the freedom bell and having the bus idling and ready to go as we file in and find a seat! .
I am in! The new bus each Thursday is my favorite tool I use mentally to "start fresh", find my beginners mind again, refocus. I love it so much.
Simple. Small.
I am starting a mindfulness course...someone on SR posted a link to it actually...thanks to who I can't remember.
I am focusing this weekend on being outdoors as much as possible. Small sunny green pleasures.
I've let all my exercise go by the wayside as I have had some rough and chaotic weeks at work lately, both in my base office and traveling. I want to make a small start on reining in my obsessive work life, and put the energy saved back into my health.
I've heard the bell. Grateful to hear and pay attention.

Count me in.
OMG ... the drama is starting early, I will just keep my head down and try not to get caught in the crossfire. Thankfully I can come here to avoid it.
Congrats Non.
I now have my write in vote ... LBrain for president!!!
Have a great day everyone.

Hats off to your son for graduating Nons - exciting
Bashed my elbow on on office chair earlier and it wasn't my fault (well OK it probably was my fault) - that's got to be worth a million or two surely?

Since it's Mother's Day weekend and I am a mother I plan to do things I really enjoy and nothing else. I told the hubby we're getting carry out on Sunday. I may or may not see my kids and that's okay. I'm doing a Mother's Day flower shopping trip next weekend with my daughter and my son will probably pop over this weekend sometime. He's married and has 4 boys so I'm sure he's planning something for his spouse. I'm perfectly content to relax and enjoy the weekend and no drinking for me!
I'm a bit late to the party but I'm here.
My dad has gone away for two nights on business and my mom is driving me insane. Everything is a big drama with her. She loves the drama of it all. It has now become clear to me that if anything did happen to my dad, I would have to leave just for the sake of my sanity.
Anyway...she did tell me an amusing story: Today she went to a shop to buy some things just as the teenage boys were being let out of the local school for lunch break. They were running across the shop grounds as my mom was leaving, punching and kicking each other, and generally messing - then one of them pointed at my mom and said to the others "be careful of the old woman there".
Note OLD woman. My mom was kind of amused, yet also wanted to give out to them.
On a slightly different note, I have actually been worried that I am getting wrinkles because when I wake up in the morning these days, I feel about 100 years old. But yesterday I stopped at the shop to buy a lottery ticket for my mom, and a different lady cashier asked me again "You are over 18, aren't you?" I fell silent and she frowned..."or are you under 18?"
Hmmm...maybe she needs her eyesight checked...
