I don't need no stinking corkscrew!

I know I could get into a bottle of wine with just a bic pen (I proved that last week at the hotel) but I felt POWERFUL and in CONTROL throwing the corkscrew out and taking the garbage bag out to the curb.

The simple things help.

7 days!

Congrats on seven days and on kicking that corkscrew to the curb! You're doing great.

Congrats! The first week or two are the hardest in my opinion...and then you will establish a routine where alcohol isn't involved at all and it will be more natural.

I always cherish the small things that help empower me. Recovery is made up of millions of little pieces that make a life changing whole so keep moving forward and discovering all the little pieces that make up the whole.

Thanks!

Some other simple things I have done are... carpooling so I don't drive by the store and stop, sitting on a different couch while I look at my phone, drinking water out of a bottle instead of one of the glasses I used for wine, and lastly I threw out my fat pants because I know that I am going to go back down in weight because I am no longer drinking vats of wine.

Yep, I really took pleasure in removing any drinking accoutrements laying around my house.

You are doing fantastic, bug

I don't know if I threw out my corkscrew or not, but just the thought of drinking wine makes me nauseous so I'm not worried, because drinking is not an option for me anymore.

The thought of alcohol makes me sick too.

Congratulations on 7 days, that is fantastic! And I know it felt liberating to throw out the corkscrew. Keep up the good work. What is your plan for the weekend?

I wasn't really a weekend drinker. I was a "come home from a hard day and sit on the couch with a bottle" kind of drinker. So I am not worried about the weekend. Falling into my bad habits on the weekday is what I need a concrete plan for. My plan for this weekend is to keep busy though. Boredom is a trigger. So I need to plan my hours carefully.
