To be honest it was a relief to know that I didn't have to join in. I have been around here a long time and the one belief most of us have in common, that trips us up time and again is the belief that we can control our drinking after the first drink and that has been proven false countless times. There have been a few nights that I might have stopped at two or three but I was miserable and obsessed the rest of the night. So what's the point in even trying. I cannot tell you what a relief it has been to have made it through this with no drunken outbursts or meltdowns. Now the focus needs to be on maintaining. Thank you all again for your thoughts and encouragement.
