10 weeks + update
And im feling great! Still have the great resolve.
Just received bad new that my alcoholic uncle in law is going to hospice care. He is dying and still drinking. His brother, my father in law staying with us this week. I posted about him a year ago. He was in the hospital for over a month, he almost died but made it through and quit drinking. He quit cold turkey. We used to be drinking buds. He has asked me if I miss drinking and he keep telling me I wasn't bad, that I could drink again but I explain to him that I don't want just 1, I want the entire bottle...
He drank beer everyday, drank it like water. I am proud of him for quitting but if he didn't he was going to die. We dropped my daughter off at her art class yesterday and he said "in the good all days we would be hitting up a bar"... That's probably true. I'm so glad I'm not that person anymore.

Congrats on 10 weeks nowsthetime, that's great! Sorry to hear about your uncle who is still drinking, that is sad. Being sober will allow you to deal with the situation much better though. The story about your father in law is great to hear too, and it's touching to hear that your daughter knows a new sober you and a new sober grandpa!

Thanks guys.
I'm loving having my father in law staying with us. I am from a place where grandparents end up living with you. Not a lot of people send their elders to care and this has been good practice for my hubby. I have told him that we will definitely take his parents in when needed. He LOVES my cooking and it feels great to feel appreciated like that. I guess my hubby is just spoiled and it is used to have good food everyday so it's refreshing to have someone so complimentary enjoying my food. His appetite is finally coming back, a year after surgery. He lost 60 pounds. 60!!!! He looks 20 years older but I think that he is bouncing back. He is also helping me with my nursery (plants) and seems to enjoy helping.
My old drinking buddy is my new sober buddy!
