discouraged

The end of day 7 sober. I am happy about that, but am really down. I've eaten healthy today, drank water, took the dogs to the park, went to the gym and church. It was a really good day.

Why do I feel down and discouraged? I haven't texted with my friend that I upset since Wednesday. That's actually good because it wasn't a healthy relationship. I miss him though. Perhaps it's just missing the only person other than my mom that I communicated with on a regular and daily basis.

Getting me well and sober is most important, but it kinda stinks having to let go.

For now I will go to bed and hope to feel better tomorrow.

Congrats on your almost 8 day sober. That's awesome! Try not to stress yourself too much during this first month of sobriety. Things will work out with time. You'll know what relationships matter as time goes on. Stay positive, and know that things will get better with time.

Breakups are hard - even in friendship and even when the relationship is unhealthy.

If it was a toxic relationship then it's for the best - but I'm sorry for your sadness.

In time you'll be glad you did the right thing

Congrats on the seven days. As you continue to add sober time you will start to feel better. I'm sorry about your friend.

Congratulations, early on in sobriety some relationships change. Make your sobriety your number one priority.

Yes, I had a toxic relationship with alcohol too. Breaking up was hard for me to do and made me sad at first, but now I'm glad I did the right thing.

Oh, wait, sorry, I guess you were talking about human relationships...
