62 days

63 days ago I got tired of being a slave to the bottles of bourbon, called a local inpatient recovery program and my very supportive wife gave me a ride there the next day. Spent 28 days in inpatient. First few days of detox were horrible and scary as hell. No way I could have lived through it at home. The all over body shakes were really scary and that was while I was heavily drugged up. I'd been drinking for years but the last few I was blacked out far more days than not. Somehow I was able to hang onto my job, family, home and vehicles. I don't think I had to many days left though. My body was about done, I was in horrible shape when I checked in, super dehydrated, had had liver problems for a while before this.
Gained a ton of knowledge about this disease and was nice to somewhat clear my head for 28 days. I've got 2 more sessions of intensive outpatient. Program runs for 24 days M-F 3 hours a day. Starting Wednesday I'll cut back to twice a week for twice a week, 1.5 hour sessions for 10 weeks. After that it will be once a week for another 16 weeks.
Been hitting up a lot of meetings on the weekends, anywhere from 2-5. Up until this weekend I'd been going to 3-5 per weekend, this weekend I went to two.
Haven't been able to go to any during the week since I work graveyard shift Sun night through Fri morning. Once my outpatient schedule cuts back I'll be able to start going during the week after work.
Been really busy so far, but it's been nice to do it all with a clear head and at peace. Family and I are looking forward to the first sober summer in a long time.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and time on here!
