Hi wantneeda, you and your mom are in my prayers. God can do miracles.
My grandpa is still in critical condition. the worst part is the waiting...not knowing what to expect. It is all in God's hands now.
I hope you are doing ok today.

Good to see you keeping positive, hopealwayz. Sending prayers to you and your Grandpa. I know how hard it is to have a loved one in the hospital and not know what to expect. Hang in there and try to make it to a few meetings and keep posting on SR. Lean on everyone here at SR when you have to and we will be here for you.

Still sober but I'm still very shaky. I wonder when that is going to go away? I went to work shaking yesterday and it wasn't fun.
But, each day will be better than the one before it.

Jup, congrats on 60 days.
Wantneeda, way to go on 10 months!
This is truly inspirational and I hope one day I will reach these milestones. I can do it , one day at a time. Thanks for sharing your joy and hope on SR.

one thing I learnt that was really valuable for me was to ASK God to make me willing - sometimes we know we can ask for His help, but we don't , cause we just simply want to use. Simple. No help, thanks. This is what I want to do. I have found that by praying to God and asking him to make me WILLING to want to stay sober no matter what, has really really helped. Thinking of you.

Thanks Cathy, those words are so true for my situation. So many times I have thought that maybe I should turn it over to God for help staying sober when I really wanted to use, but I took it upon myself to follow my own desires. The end result isn't too pretty.

Disappearing for a week
Hi SR friends,
Just wanted to let you know that I will be gone for a week but I'm ok.
Will miss all of you so much!!
Please don't let this thread fall too far in the basement. LOL. Help me keep it where I can find it when I get back.

Ok, back earlier than anticipated. You see, I cannot stay away!! LOL.........
I'm on day 4 and I just want to make it to day 5. I'm hangin on and I know that I will not pick up anything mind-altering today.

Hi Hope, glad to see you!!! When i get up in the morning, i've made it a practice to promise my Higher Power that I will not pick up today!!! it's been workin for me...i NEVER used to keep my promises....10 months later...i've been able to keep this one.
