I have always been very sensitive to it due to my wacky neurology- I would say yes in sobriety as I no longer have drink or pills to relax me.
I know that coming off benzos definitely made this worse as well and even the sense of smell! Though again I tend to be sensitive anyway.
But, as alcohol and benzos work on the same receptors and have near identical withdrawal symptoms- wouldn't be surprised if any of this applied quite a bit to becoming alcohol free as well.
Just store yourself in a cool dry place blueberry- dim the lights and keep things a as quiet and calm as you can
I listen to birds chirping on youtube or rain fall sometimes for nice calm background noise.

I have three.... its almost impossible to get any quiet unless they are asleep but yep I do feel I need a little resbite from a noisy household! It is driving me mad!

I am MUCH more sensitive to noise. I drive my husband nuts turning down the TV. There is a sandwich shop that my husband and I frequent for lunch. I often ask them (politely, of course,) to turn the volume of the music down a bit.
