It's Friday and I'm Sober!
Good morning everyone! Happy Friday!
I made it to day 6! Woot! I am still so unbelievable tired. I've been falling asleep around 8 or 8:30 all week and barely dragging myself out of bed at 5:15. That's about 9 hours a night. I was accustomed to about 6, even while I was drinking heavily.
Today I expect to have a challenge. It is Friday after all and what better way to cap off the week but with a drink, right? But I've already started bolstering my commitment to staying sober. I think I'll see if my daughter wants to go to the Y tonight so I can't get out of the house and off the couch. Other than that, I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing because it's been working for me.
What is your plan for staying sober today?

Great job on day 6 and going to the Y with your daughter.
Plans for the day for me is house cleaning Better half and I are going to buy a boat tomorrow as we have a new house on the Ocean and I am itching to go fishing as the waters are full of Sea Trout.....she wants to read a book, talk and take in the sun
I find being sober my mind is free to come up with things I love to do that involve my better half and being sober I can commit to them, it's the way to live.
All the best and have a great weekend

My plan to stay sober today is to go for a walk in the sun as usual, then later on play darts and hit some 180's! I'm feeling extravagant today so two bottles of water and a can of diet coke will be my order when I arrive at the darts venue!
Happy Friday!
Happy Friday!
Congrats! Day 2 here for me. It's a rainy day and we are out hitting the storage units. We bought 4 yesterday and should really be home selling stuff, but I figured with rain, we can't really pull stuff outside. Tomorrow supposed to be beautiful so we will sell then. Determined to stay sober today. Sorry for rambling on your thread.

The plan that's been working for me lately is playing the tape all the way through until tomorrow.
If I were to decide to drink tonight, I'd spend money wastefully. I'd stay up too late. I'd feel miserable and tired tomorrow. My wife would be annoyed with me. A perfectly good Saturday would be ruined. And those are just the minor things that could go wrong.
It would all be too much to give up just to spend some time selfishly on alcohol.
So instead I've got plans for gaming online with my friends tonight, which is something I can't do well enough to enjoy if I'm drinking.
Exercise at the Y sounds like a great idea. I've been looking into a gym membership. Maybe I'll go take a look tomorrow.

BBB, you are going to love Saturday and Sunday morning. Waking up hangover-free and guilt-free on the weekend is the BEST.
Having said that, Friday nights and Saturday nights were big challenges for me at first. Be ready for them. And feel free to come here to SR if you are struggling.
We are pulling for you.

That is really great! Six days and it sounds like you're getting some much needed sleep (catching up).
My plan was working on the yard and hitting the gym, then cooking a nice meal. Now, I'm nice and naturally (non-booze induced) tired and am looking forward to a comfy sleep, and waking up to having energy and clear thoughts and plans for the day!
How did yours turn out?

Mostly AA, SoberRecovery.com, church and bible studies.
If it works don't fix it.
Congrats on your one week sober.
