New guy here. Might drop in from time to time as needed. I'm damn near three years sober. This comes after what has to be a world record relapse record I'm not proud of. For about a year had a 50-60 beer (ice beers) a day habbit. Followed by a hospital detox with ventilator where I damn near cashed my chips in. I litterly let booze take damn near everything from my life. I lost (gave) my job, house, fiancée and the respect of allot of people. Slowly years later my life is back on track and the biggest reason was putting the bottle down and never going back to it. There is allot of wisdom that has been posted by many on here! The only bit of advice I can give to somebody out there quoting is not to stop trying. You can overcome this, it does get better. The body cravings go away, withdrawl fades, anxiety lessens and you find different ways to cope with life without alcohol. Get a docortor on board and treatment for afterwards. You can get your life back!

Hello and welcome.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I agree with you. Never stop trying.
I was the relapse king, too. Over five years for me now. It can be done and we're proof.
Best to you and I hope you do stick around.
