Success against AV
My son requested to go out for wings for his birthday dinner. That works - except the wing joint is also a bar. Sigh. So on the table not one but two drink menus signs all over of all the special brews I always enjoyed. Wasn't really all that bad and my iced tea was tasty. (Also glad my hubby opted to order a soda). But that damned AV popped up out of nowhere. Little bugger. 😳

Congrats! It is unfortunate, but alcohol is everywhere. You can avoid the obvious stops (liquor stores and taverns) but sometimes you come face to face. You'll be so happy with your decision when you get in bed tonight and wake up tomorrow!

It's tough .. they advertise alcohol as the greatest thing .. which makes sense from a business perspective. It sells.
Doesn't make it any easier for people like us. I drive by a Bud Light factory every day to get home .. it has a big picture of a beer and says to come "Join the Party".
I only have 4 days so far ... but so far I've been able to drive by that sign and think "Yeah .. some party ... get sick and drink alone"
Anytime we resist an urge ... that's the real "greatest thing"

I named my AV. I got the idea from a podcast I listen to. I picture her some grizzly old lady who is bat$hit crazy. Her name is Norma. When she starts whispering in my ear, I picture myself standing up yo her and walking away, head held high.
