You can close your eyes!!
You can close your eyes!!
Hey Everyone,
I haven't been around much of late, the reason being a work situation, where I have simply wanted to be alone.
One of my work colleague's was due to get married this year, New Year's Eve 2016, and as most brides do before the big day, diet and exercise find there way into the routine, it's only natural, you want to look your best for the photos.
Tragedy however struck, the bride, my work colleague, was at the gym on Friday of last week and collapsed, later to be confirmed as a heart attack, she died and was buried this morning, she was buried in her wedding dress, I was simply a work colleague, but many where family, friends, her fiance, I can only imagine what they are feeling, but I was once in those shoes with my dad, but how does one comfort the lose of a daughter, a sister, a partner?
Life continues to be a reminder of how cruel it can get, simply heartbreaking for the family, the mood this morning was sombre, I attended the funeral and it was a reminder that this is as real as life gets, death is so permanent.
I think I just need some time to get over the fact that my work colleague won't be in tomorrow, won't be at the coffee machine cracking jokes and having conversation anymore, death is just so final, but we have to, we must continue on, despite the heartbreak.
RIP Lindsay, never forgotten, your light shall shine on, never to be darkened!! . . . "You can close your eyes . . . it's alright"

Don't discount how you process this my friend. Give yourself some understanding the next several days as well.

Hey PK ,
i'm sorry for your colleague .
I've noticed you not around , the bus is always at the ready , don't be a stranger eh ?
Isolation was always one link in the chain that bonded me to alcohol .
Bestwishes, m
