Hard time right now

IM having a very tempting day to have a drink. I Reyes reading articles online. That worked for a while. So I thought to turn to SR. Many of you have good advice and ideas. Can you send some my way?

I've been fighting urges for three days now. Always seems to help me when I get a large glass of lemon water. Don't know why but it helps. Plus I love waking up refreshed and without all the regret that cones after drinking. I don't want to start on day 1 again. Try some water. Ear something. That helps roo

Meant to say eat something. That helps too

Hey khorillo, are you at home? At work? If you were to satisfy your craving, where would you go to do so? Ok, don't go there. :) Seriously, your craving WILL go away at some point. In the meantime, distract yourself. Watch a movie, get out of the house, exercise, take the dog for a walk, call a friend, read something, start a project, mow the lawn...do anything except go near alcohol. You can do this!!!

I'm sorry you're having a rough time of it.
When I want to drink I'll come here and read posts, but what really helps me is thinking back to my drinking days.
The following day's remorse, anxiety and regret for having drank over some problem that will take care of itself on its own and the insanity of thinking drinking will some how help.
Believe me, it won't. But drinking, just thinking why not once? Would send me right back to my old ways.

Why not attend an AA meeting, if you're so inclined? Read here of the suffering of the Newcomers and those in recovery. There's a lot of wisdom here.
Drinking never solved anything.

Best to you.

Have you tried AVRT? It really helped me! If you're having a hard time stay close to SR- it really helps me when I'm down.:grouphug:
